NU promotes Thai Alternative Medicine for Global Alternative Health

       Current awareness of health care and disease prevention disease, and alternative medical treatments to conventional medicine is being supported by Naresuan University, which is acting to promote Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine as a natural approach to health care.

       To achieve this objective, Naresuan University, in collaboration with the Guangdong-Macau Traditional Medicine Technology Industry Park Development Co., Ltd. (GMTCM Park),  held the 2017 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum, at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Bangkok, Thailand. The forum was held on April 27th 2017.

       GMTCM Park is a government agency in Macau. It is a research and development institute including private sector support to develop standards for herbs for markets in China, the ASEAN region and the world. Their activities Include finding public health care systems supported by the government Macau - Guangdong, China,

       This years forum is a perpetuation of an MOU signed in 2016 between Naresuan University and GMTCM Park. The forum was a mobilization of the three major sectors of government, academic and entrepreneurs in the private sector, alternative medicine healthcare businesses, and hospitals.

       Asst.Prof. Dr Sirikasem Sirilak__The Dean of The Faculty of Medicinesaid that Traditional medicine and Alternative medicine, is knowledge that is useful and increasingly important. It uses non-invasive medical techniques that do not cause pain to the patient and has no toxic reaction. The University has been cooperating with GMTCM to jointly develop and promote both traditional medicines and alternative medicines, and will further publicize the usefulness of these approaches. The research covers both the treatments and the products.

       Especially in an aging society, this technique is a valuable natural process that supports the elderly at the time they are most likely to have illness, and at the end of life. Given this, the development of this knowledge is accompanied by government support. It will help the health system of the Thai people with high efficiency and better quality of life.

       Ms. Lu Hong__The President and CEO of GMTCM said thatChina and Thailand both have interesting traditional medicine alternative medicines which can be integrated together in new and innovative ways.

       GMTCM Park is located in Macau which has state-of-the-art technology and is a significant and important gateway to the global market. GMTCM Park can therefore drive medical care services and innovations of both countries, both in terms of knowledge and promotion of trade.

       The 2017 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum is an outcome of the MOU between Naresuan University and GMTCM Park, and is a premiere conference that all three sectors contribute to and participate in.
