The Faculty of Medicine was established
by a resolution of the Cabinet Council on the Framework
of Guidelines as setout in the Memorandum of Understanding,
signed between the Ministry of University Affairs and
the Ministry of Public Health on cooperation in the training
and production of health care personnel. The program was
put into operation in 1995.
Our goal is to train physicians pursuant to the Thai government's
mandate to solve the problem of insufficient health professionals.
Furthermore, the Faculty of Medicine's goal is to improve
and expand the health treatment for people in the 9 provinces
of the lower part of the northern region of Thailand.
The training network of the Faculty includes Buddhachinaraj,
Uttradit, Phrae, Phichit, Somdej Prachao Taksinmaharaj
Hospitals, community hospitals, health centers of the
Ministry of Public Health and Bangkok Bumrungrad Hospital.

1. To produce Medical Council standard
graduates and public health personnel who focus on the
problems of the lower northern part of Thailand. Furthermore,
the graduates must develop the highest standard of ethics.
2. To promote continuous study as well as quality medical
and public health research in order to solve rural health
problems.
