The Solar Energy Research
and Training Centre (SERT), established in 1995
is now the School
of Renewable Energy Technology. As an autonomous
state centre, SERT is able to work flexibly to develop
solar energy technologies for the energy needs of
developing countries in South East Asia by encouragement
and applying for industries.
The activities of SERT are to produce doctoral
and master level graduates in renewable energy,
to conduct research, develop new methods of renewable
engergy production, and identify potential areas
for Thailand to make use of solar energy technology.
This will lead to the conservation of energy and
the reduction of the environmental impact from the
use of fossil fuels All activities of SERT can improve
the quality and sustainability of life.
