The Environmental Research Centre
at Naresuan University is a centre for study and research
the environment. The centre assists in developing environment
systems by integrating knowledge and principles of other
disciplines. Additionally, this centre supports the community
by allowing people to come and study and research information
on the environment.
Another
benefit of the centre is to gather academics who can
provide knowledge on environmental issues and who can
also assist in determining policy for environmental
research. It is also a main centre for organising environmental
projects with other institutions.
A major role of the Environmental Research
Centre is creating environmental research together with
long lasting development along with solving environmental
problems which occur in our community and society.
Current projects include; solid waste
management planning, monitoring waste water quality
in the area, land use and urban planning around the
Naresuan University area.
The research objectives are
as follows:
1. To undertake research projects from professors and
academic staff of the centre that get support and funding
from inside and outside the country.
2. The result of research brings knowledge and solutions
and the creation of new inventions for improving the
environment that preserves and maintains the natural
environmental condition.
3. The research is published in journals or other media
inside and outside the country.
4. There is co-operation of research with other centres
from within and outside the country in order to exchange
experiences with each other.
The creation of the Environmental Research Centre was
one of the steps taken by Naresuan University to emphasise
that knowledge and cooperation from government and private
sectors will help develop natural environmental management
